Lethbridge Workshop: Opportunities to Advance Education Around Energy, Environment, and Climate for K-12 Students.

The Alberta Council for Environmental Education (ACEE) would like to invite you to a full-day workshop to build your capacity to advance energy, environment, and climate education in the Lethbridge area.

Join us for a day full of connection and learning with:

 

Networking walk. Learn about environmental education programs in the Lethbridge area and connect with your colleagues to share your programs. Come dressed to be outside!

Minister Shannon Phillips. Join us for lunch and hear from the Minister of Environment and Parks.

Climate Change Education and Literacy. ‘What is Excellent Climate Change Education?’ Gareth Thomson, Executive Director of ACEE will share best practices and current research on how you can effectively incorporate this challenging topic into your programs and teaching.

Energy Education NEW OPPORTUNITIES! Gareth Thomson will share details of exciting new opportunities that help Alberta students:

  • Increase their environmental and energy literacy.

  • Find hope as they take climate action in their schools and at home.

  • Reduce utility bills and carbon levy payments at the school board level.

  • Become prepared for jobs in the clean energy economy.


What do you need to incorporate excellent climate, energy and environmental education into your programs? Share your ideas with your colleagues. 
 

Attendance is free, but registration is required so that we can order you lunch! We are also pleased to offer to cover transportation costs for those who carpool and we have limited funding available to cover substitute fees for teachers who care to attend.
