Keynotes Speakers: Education Minister David Eggen, and PEEL Project

Classroom Exploration of Climate Change: the PEEL Project.

PEEL (People for Energy and Environmental Literacy) is a year-long inquiry that immerses students, teachers, and families in an exploration of climate change. Students work with more than 25 organizations from around Alberta to explore the complexities of navigating energy and the environment in Alberta, understand what's at stake, what a greener future might look like - and what they can do.

Presenters: Paula McGarrigle, Solas Energy Consulting; and Christine Avey, Westmount Charter School.

Education Minister David Eggen will outline the links between the Provincial governments' work – including new curriculum - and our conference theme.

At this conference you will....

  • Understand the relationship between climate leadership and environmental, outdoor, and energy education...

  • Build connections with other teachers and community leaders ...

  • Gain new tools and techniques for the classroom.

Who should come to this conference?

  • Teachers from any jurisdiction

  • Educators working in schools

  • Anyone wanting to learn from the inspiring work being done in schools to increase environmental, energy and climate literacy of students in grades K-12!
