Five AYLEE members - Fatima, Taylor, Xailen, James, and Logan - were guest speakers alongside ACEE's Shauna Kelly at ASCA's Webinar Wednesday. Fatima and Logan presented the need for environmental education as demonstrated by AYLEE's survey results, and AYLEE's recommendations and vision for environmental education. Taylor, Xailen, and James, who are all members of Lacombe Composite High School's EcoVision group, then shared their experiences with environmental education, the projects they are all part of, and how they link their work to the curriculum and the community. Lastly, Shauna shared how ACEE is working to advance environmental education and resources for school council members to get involved. They spent the rest of the session having a great discussion with the folks on the call, discussing youth engagement in the education system and how family members of students can use their voice too.
